WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF PARK AVENUE: THENCE, SOUTHERLY ALONG
THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF PARK AVENUE TO THE CENTER LINE

MEANDERING THE CENTER OF LITTLE CEDAR BAYOU TO THE POINT OF
BEGINNING: ALL AS SET FORTH ON EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO AND
FULLY INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE HEREIN: DEDICATING ALL OF SAID
VACATED AND ABANDONED RIGHTS OF WAY FOR PUBLIC PARK PURPOSES:
FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW: AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has ascer-
tained a need for the City of La Porte to vacate, abandon, and
permanently close certain right-of-ways and alleys appertenant
to the City of La Porte Cedar Bayou Park: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has deter-
mined, and does hereby find, determine, and declare that that

portion of Sixth (6th) Street between the South right-of-way
line of West "0" Street and the North right-of-way line of
west "p" Street and lying and situated between Blocks Eleven
Hundred Ninety (ll90) and Eleven Hundred Ninety-One (1191);
the entire alley of Block 1191; the entire alley of Block
1190; that portion of Fifth (5th) Street between the South
right-of-way line of West "0" Street and the North right-of-way
line of West lip II Street and lying and situated between Blocks
Eleven Hundred Ninety (1190) and Fourteen Hundred Forty-Three
(l443); that portion of the alley in Block Fourteen Hundred
Forty-Three (1443) bounded by the South right-of-way line of
West "0" Street and the North property line of the Golf Course;
that portion of Fourth (4th) Street between the South right-of-

First (1st) Street between the center of Little Cedar Bayou
and the North property line of the Golf Course and lying and
situated between Blocks Fourteen Hundred Thirty-six (l436) and
Fourteen Hundred Thirty-Seven (1437); portion of Park Avenue:
Beginning with a point for a corner, being the intersection of
the center line of Little Cedar Bayou and the West right-of-way
line of Park Avenue; thence, Southerly along the West right-of-
way line of Park Avenue to the center line of West lip II Street
being a point for a corner; thence, East along the center line
of West IIplI to the East right-of-way line of Park Avenue for a
point for a corner; thence, Northerly along the East right-of-
way line of Park Avenue to the center of Little Cedar Bayou
for a point for a corner; thence, Westerly meandering the
center of Little Cedar Bayou to the point of beginning; all as
set forth on Exhibit IIAII attached hereto and fully incorporated
by reference herein; Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas,
are not suitable needed, or beneficial to the public as a public
roads or streets, and that the closing of said right-of-ways
and alleys is for the protection of the public and for the
public interest and benefit, and that the hereinafter described
right-of-ways and alleys should be vacated, abandoned, and
permanently closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section l. Under and by virtue of the power granted to
the City of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chap. 13,
Title 28, Art. 1175, of the Revised Civil Statutes of the State
of Texas, 1925, the hereinafter described property is hereby
permanently vacated, abandoned, and closed by the City of

line of Park Avenue: thence, Southerly along the West right-of-
way line of Park Avenue to the center line of West "p" Street
being a point for a corner: thence, East along the center line
of West "p" to the East right-of-way line of Park Avenue for a
point for a corner: thence, Northerly along the East right-of-way
line of Park Avenue to the center of Little Cedar Bayou for a

on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and fully incorporated by
reference herein: of the Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas.
Section 2. All of the above-described rights-of-way, vaca-
ted and abandoned by this Ordinance, is dedicated by the City of
La Porte for public park purposes, for Little Cedar Bayou Park.
Section 3. The City Council officially finds, determines,

reci tes and declares that a suffici.smt written notice of the
date, hour, place and subject of 1:.his meeting of the City
Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the
Ci ty Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding
this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article
6252-l7, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and that
this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at
all times during which this ordinanc:e and the subject matter
thereof has been discussed, considered and formally acted
upon. The City Council further rat,ifies, approves and con-
firms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
