HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-1987-1540 . .J ORDINANCE NO. ,~ 1540 AN ORDINANCE DISANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY HERETOFORE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE: CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE: FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW: AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section L The hereinafter described territory, to the extent to which the same has been previously annexed to the City of La Porte, and made a part of the corporate boundaries of the City of La Porte, Texas, by prior annexation ordinance of the City of La Porte, is hereby disannexed from the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, and, after the effective date of this Ordinance, shall not constitute a part of the corporate territory of the City of La Porte, to-wit: SEE EXHIBIT "A" Section 2. Nothing herein contained shall affect the validity of the remaining portion of the Ordinance or Ordi- nances under which the hereinabove described territory, or any portion thereof, was originally annexed, and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of La Porte that only the above described territory, or so much thereof which has been previously annexed to the City of La Porte, shall be dis- annexed from the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, Texas. Section 3. The City Council officially finds, deter- mines, recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated: and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject matter thereof . . .{ Ordinance No. l54Q , Page 2. \ \ has been discussed, considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof. Section 4. EXHIBIT "A" t Exhibit "A to agreement dated day of . 1967. between LA PORTE, TEXAS, a municipal corporation of Harris County, Texas and RAGSDALE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, a Texas corporation. TRACT NO. 1 25,000 square feet of land, more or less, out of the Enoch Brinson League, A-5, Harris County, Texas and being out of the Westerly portion of a trac~ described as Tract No. 1 to R. G. Florance, Sr. in deed recorded in Volume 5451, page 65 of the Harris County Deed Records and being more par- ticularly described by metes and bounds as follows: . STARTING at a concre,te mqnument marking the inter- section of,the Westerly right-of-way of state Highway 146 an~ the North line of the above men- tioned Tract No.1, said monument being 2204.4 feet North of the North line ,of Block 30, Nebraska Syndicate Tract and along the projected centerline of 13th Street and 561.65 feet East along an old fence marking the North line of the above mentioned Tract No. 1 for PLACE OF BEGINNING; THENCE, West, 310.86 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENC~, south, 100.00 feet t~ an iron rod for corner; .
