RESOLUTION NO. 1?-62 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />.,. <br /> <br />,RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Industry in th~ La Port~ area vitally <br /> <br />needs a suitable and adequate Ship Channel running from <br /> <br />the Houston Ship Chann~l west into the property lying <br /> <br />west of present state Highway 146 and n'orth of Seabrook, <br /> <br />Texas~ and east of Red Bluff Road in Harris County, Texas, <br /> <br />togeth~r with adequate wharves~ warehous,es, and docking <br /> <br />faciliti,es1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the financing of such Ship Channel <br /> <br />and its facilities must pe done by the issuanc~ of bondsr <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of <br /> <br />La P-orte is willing to issue sufficient revenue bonds for <br /> <br />such purposes as soon as it is feasible, practicable and <br /> <br />ec,onomical; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS; upon the const~uction of 'such Ship <br /> <br />Channel, ~hai:ves, warehouses and 'docking facilities, such <br /> <br />faciliti..es should be leased to suitable tenants and should <br /> <br />be operated by a self-perpetuating board of Trustees1 <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED <br /> <br />by the City Commissiqn of the City ,of La Porte that the <br /> <br />City of La Porte will issue sufficient revenue bonds for <br /> <br />the construction of a Ship Channel from the Houston Ship <br /> <br />Channel west into the area west of present State High- <br /> <br />way 146 and north of the Town of Seabrook~ 'I'exas~ and <br /> <br />east of Red Bluff Road in Harris County, Texas, and for <br />
