BE IT ORnAINED: By the Ci ty Council of the City of IJa Porte:- <br /> <br />Section One: That an election he, and the same is hereby ordered <br />to determine whether the Charter of the City of La Porto shall be <br />amended so as tom include Article 8p4, of Chapter 4, of Title 22, of <br />the Revised Civil Statutes of 1911; as amended by Senate bill 342, <br />of the general laws of the State of'Texas; enacted by the 33rd Legis <br />lature, which amendmentl adds thereto Articles 854-a, 854-b and <br />854-c. <br /> <br />v <br /> <br />\.,...,. <br /> <br />'1 <br />I <br />" <br /> <br /> <br />~\';' <br />II ' <br />,':I <br /> <br />Section Two: Said election shall be hell! on Saturday, tho 18th <br />day of December 1915; and in accordanco with the general election <br />laws of the State, as applied to Cities, and notices thereof shall <br />be given by the Mayor at least Thirty (30) days prior therato. <br /> <br />Section Three: The form of ballot for such election shall be <br />"~or the amendment to the Charter, conferring power on the City <br />)'Council to sell public squares and parks, and to sellar vacate <br />/ parts of streets and alleys within the limits of the City, as pro- <br />vided in Article 854, of Chapter 4, of Title 22, of the Revised <br />. Civil Statntes of 1911, as amended by Senate bill 34~, of the <br />General Laws of the State of Texas, enacted by the 33rd Legisla- <br />ture, which amendment adds thereto Articles 854-a, 854-b, ann <br />854-c." and Against the amendment to the Charter conferring power <br />on the City Council to sell public squares and parks, and to sell <br />or vacate parts of streets or alleys within the limits of tho City, <br />as provided in Articl~s 854, of Chapter 4, of Title 22, of the Re- <br />vised Civil Statutes of 1911, as amended by Senate bill 342, of the <br />General laws of the State of Texas, enacted 'by the 33rd ~egislature, <br />which amendment adds thereto Articles 854-a, 854-b, and 854-c." <br /> <br />Section Four: That there exists a public emergency and neces- <br />sity, reqUiring that this ordinance shall be passed finally on the <br />date of its introduction, and the Mayor having declared in writing <br />the existence of such an emergency, and requested such passage, <br />this Ordinance shall be passed finally on the date of its introduc- <br />tion, this 15th day of November 1915, and any rule requiring that <br />ordinances be laid over, or be read on three several days is hereby <br />suspended, and this Ordinance shall be in effect from and after its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Passed November 15th 1915. <br /> <br />Attest <br />Wilbur H.
