BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS THAT; Section I. There is hereby treated a Board to be designated .City of La Porte Airport Commissionn. hereiD sometimes referred to as the Airport Co:.nmissioD. for the purpose of promoting the development of the Municipal Airport and the efficient operation thereof. and o'btaining and enlarging commercial air- line carriage into and from the City of La Porte. The Airport Commission shall consist of three (3) membersl appointed 'by the City Commission of the City of La Porte. Section 2. Each member of the Airport Commission shall be a residen citizen of the City of La Porte and DO person having any financial interest in any commerci~1 carrier by air. or in any concession. right or privilege to con- du:ct any business or rend.er any service for cOlllpensation UpOD the premises of the Municipal Airport shall be eligible for membership on the Airport Commission ~ection 3. The initial members of the Airport Commission sllall be al}pointed to, serve until the 1st day of MaYI A.. D. 1958 and all appointments thereafter shall be for a period of two (2) years, excepting appointments to fil facanciest wtich shall be only for the unexpired period of appointment of the member whos'e position has become vacant. All appointments to fill vacancies sball likewise be made by the City Commission of the City of La Porte. Perma- I, I nent remo~_al: of residence from the City of La Porte by any member of the Airport Commission sihall automatically terminate the member'ship of such member and creat a vacancy., Section 4. There is hereby created the office of Airport Manager, who shall be the Manager of the La Porte Municipa) Airport. The €bairman of the Airport ,Commission' shall also be tbe Airport Manager. .~Section 5. The'City'G~mmisSion shall appoint a member of the Airpor j. (:ommis$Jo~ 45 Chairman thereof. who shall' also be the Airport Manager. and the Jlirport Commission shall elect from their members a Vice Chairman and shall also nppoint a Secretary. who may! but need not be. a member of the Airport Commissio .
