_, __ __ _ <br />,_ <br />• • <br />• <br />ORDINANCE N0. 533 <br />'!AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE PORTIONS OF THE STREETS AND <br />ALLEYS LYING WITHIN THE AREA BOUNDED BY ARIZONA, EAST G, TEXAS,E AST J STREETS, <br />'iAND PARK AVENUE, IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTS, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND RESERVING <br />AN EASEMENT FOR THE REPAIRING, MAINTAINING AND REPLACING OF THE EXISTING WATER <br />LINES AND SANITARY SEWER LINES WITHIN THE SAID AREA. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the La Porte Independent School <br />• <br />District has unanimously adopted a Resolution determining and declaring the nece <br />i <br />~sity for the acquisition of the said School District of the herein described <br />;tract of land lying within the City Limits of the City of La Porte., to be used `, <br />gfor grounds for a public school building or buildings, and appurtenances or <br />additions thereto, and playgrounds in connection therewith, more particularly <br />described as follows, to-wit: <br />Beginning at a common point, being an old stake in the center of the in- <br />tersection of Broadway, Main. and San. Jacinto Streets, in the Town. of La <br />Porte, in Harris County, Texas; thence in a Southerly direction along <br />the center line of San Jacinto Street, a distance of 3130 feet to a point; <br />thence at right angles in a Westerly direction 50 feet to a point, being <br />the most Northerly corner of Block No. Two Hundred Seventy-Six (276) of <br />the said Town of La Porte, and continuing in a Westerly direction along <br />the Northerly line of said Block No. Two Hundred Seventy-Six (276) a <br />distance of 326 feet to the most Northerly corner of Block No. Two Hun- <br />dred Seventy-Five (275) of said Town of La Porte., being the place of <br />beginning of the herein described tract; <br />Thence South 27015' East a distance of 1360.1 feet along the most Souther- <br />ly line of Arizona Street to a point for corner, also being the South- <br />easterly corner of Block No. Three Hundred Three (303) of said Town of <br />La Porte; <br />• <br />Thence in a Northeasterly and Easterly direction around a curve to the <br />right, whose radius is 382 feet, a distance of 357.3 feet to a point for <br />corner, also being the Southeasterly corner of Block No. Three Hundred <br />Four (304) of said Town of La Porte; <br />Thence South 26°22' West a distance of 617.8 feet to a point for corner; <br />Thence due West a distance of 1412 feet along the North right-of-way line <br />of Avenue "J" to a point for corner; <br />Thence due North a distance of 1340 feet along the East right-of-way line <br />of Texas Street to a point for corner; <br />Thence North 62°53' East along the Southerly right-of-way line of Avenue <br />"G" a distance of 811.3 feet to the place of beginning, <br />and containing 43.5 acres more or less; and <br />WHEREAS it is necessary that the said School District acquire those <br />portions of the hereinafter described streets and alleys which lie within the <br />~- <br /> <br />
