<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />96 - 09 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL 01' THE CITY 01' LA PORTE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING <br />AN AGREEMENT TO CONTINUE PARTICIPATION WITH THB CITY 01' BAYTOn IN A JOINT <br />GRANT WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION 01' THB STATE 01' TEXAS FOR FUNDING <br />THE BARRIS COUNTY ORGANIZED CRIME AND NARCOTIC TASK PORCE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, THE CITY OF LA PORTB and the City of Bay town wish to file a joint <br />grant application with the Criminal Justice Division of the state of Texas, <br />for funding in the amount of $ 2,923,606 for the Harris County Organized <br />Crime and Narcotics Task Force; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has agreed to contribute the total of $27,659 <br />in matching funds for the Budget year of 1997-98 if said joint application is <br />approved; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the source of funds would not normally be used for this purpose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte believes it to be in its best interest to join <br />in the application to continue a mUlti-agency, and mUlti-county drug <br />enforcement task force; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte agrees to accept the responsibility to adhere <br />to all pertinent federal, state, and local laws and regulations. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of La Porte, Texas, <br />that the City file a joint application with the City of Bay town for a grant <br />with the Criminal Justice Division, which creates the Harris County Organized <br />Crime and Narcotics Task Force, which we have participated in since 1989. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED, this 16th <br /> <br />day of December <br /> <br />,1996. <br /> <br />count~ Barris , Texas <br /> <br />, ~~~.q-K. <br />Norman alone, Mayor <br />City of La Porte <br /> <br /> <br />yliJffedj ~ ~ <br /> <br />I, Sue Lenes, City Secretary for the City of La Porte, do hereby certify this <br />to be a true and exact copy of the City of La Porte Resolution No. 96- 09 <br />adopted by La Porte City Council, December 16, 1996. <br />
