<br />'" <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO.' . . 7'7-'3 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REGULARLY EMPLOYED POLICE OFFICERS <br />OF THE CITY TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO ANY OTHER MUNICIPALITY OR <br />COUNTY REQUESTING SUCH ASSISTANCE, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO <br />JOIN A MUTUAL AID LAW ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE WITH NEIGHBORING <br />CITIES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas, <br /> <br />has determined that emergency situations arise when <br /> <br />assistance is needed by municipalities or counties; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />the legislature of the State of Texas has enacted <br /> <br />legislation whereby a city or county could provide <br /> <br />assistance to a city or county when such city or <br /> <br />county by its authorized official requests assistance <br /> <br />in the face of such emergency; <br /> <br />it appears to the City Council of the City of La Porte, <br /> <br />Texas, to be in the best interest of the City of La Porte <br /> <br />to provide for emergency police aid; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br /> <br />THAT, <br /> <br />OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: <br /> <br />THAT, <br /> <br />the Mayor of the City be and is hereby authorized to <br />provide the assistance of the regularly employed police <br /> <br />officers of the City of La Porte, Texas, to any <br /> <br />municipality or county requesting such assistance <br /> <br />through its duly authorized office to aid in coping <br /> <br />with situations where there exists in such other county <br /> <br />or municipality a need for the services of additional <br /> <br />law enforcement officers to protect health, life, and <br /> <br />property of such other county or municipality, its <br /> <br />inhabitants, and the visitors thereto, by reason or <br /> <br />riot, unlawful assembly characterized by the use of <br /> <br />force a.nd violence, or threat thereto by three (3) <br /> <br />or more persons acting together or without lawful <br /> <br />authority, or during time of natural disaster or manmade <br /> <br />calamity. <br />the Mayor of the City of La Porte, Texas be authorized <br /> <br />to enter into an agreement with neighboring municipalities <br /> <br />to wit: Seabrook, Webster, Friendswood, League City, <br />
