<br />... <br />-- <br /> <br />." <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-5 <br /> <br />CLEAR CREEK BRIDGE' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bridge on State Highway 146 over Clear Creek <br /> <br />between Kemah and Seabrook is only two lanes with a four-lane <br /> <br />highway on either side of said bridge; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lift span is continuously opening on week- <br /> <br />ends and holidays because of numerous sail boats going in and <br /> <br />out of Clear Lake; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lift span in said bridge causes traffic <br /> <br />jams, air pollution problems, and serious adverse effect to <br /> <br />the business life of the City of Seabrook; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, subsidence in the Harris County area is causing <br /> <br />said bridge to be lower each year; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br /> <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: THAT, the State Department of <br /> <br />Highways and Public T~ansportation be urged to allocate the <br /> <br />necessary funds at the earliest possible time for a fixed span <br /> <br />high bridge on State Highway 146 crossing Clear Creek; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution <br /> <br />be forwarded to all members of the State Department of Highways <br /> <br />and Public Transportation, Governor Dolph Briscoe, Lieutenant <br /> <br />Governor Bill Hobby and all Legislators from this area. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />June <br /> <br />day of <br />CITY OF LA PORTE <br /> <br />, 1977. <br /> <br />=<=~~ - <br /> <br />J.
