<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87-17 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />SUPPORTING AMENDMENT NUMBERS 7, 8, AND 23 ON THE NOVEMBER 3, <br />1987, GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Amendment No.7 on the November 3, 1987, general <br />election ballot will, if passed, provide authority for $400 <br />million in state general obligation bonds to finance local <br />public facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, Amendment No.8 on the same ballot will, if <br />passed, provide authority for $500 million in state general <br />obligation bonds to finance correctional and/or MHMR <br />facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, Amendment No. 23 on the same ballot will, if <br />passed, provide authority for $400 million in state bonds for <br />water supply, water quality, and flood control purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, Amendments 7, 8, and 23 comprise the "Build <br />Texas" program which TML actively supported during the 70th <br />Regular Session of the Texas Legislature; and <br />WHEREAS, the Build Texas Program, particularly Amendment <br />No.7, will assist Texas cities in providing needed pUblic <br />facilities. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br /> <br />THAT the City Council of the City of La.
