<br />- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004- / ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS MAIN <br />STREET PROGRAM AND DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />COORDINATE ALL PROGRAM ACTIVITIES; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Texas Main Street Program of the Texas Historical Commission has <br />been created to assist small cities to develop a public/private effort to revitalize their <br />"Main Street" area, and up to five Texas cities of any population will be selected to <br />participate in the Texas Main Street Program in 2005, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the City of La Porte apply for selection to participate in the 2005 <br />Main Street Program with the specific goal of revitalizing the central business district <br />within the context of the preservation and rehabilitation of its historic buildings. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City of La Porte will provide an adequate budget to employ a <br />full-time Main Street Program manager for a minimum of three years and to provide <br />funds for the training of the Main Street Program manager. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />That the City Manager be designated to coordinate the program activities. <br /> <br />Passed by the City Council this 14th day of June, 2004. <br />LA PORTE <br /> <br /> <br />Barry Beasley <br />Mayor Pro-Tern <br /> <br />qp: <br />udali.lfj//f/ <br /> <br />Martha A.
