RESOLUTION 2021-42 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br /> AUTHRORIZ1NG THE VICTIM COORDINATOR AND LIAISON POSITION BE PARTIALLY <br /> FUNDED THROUGH A GRANT FOR THE FISCAL YEARS 2022-2023; APPROVING THE <br /> SUBMISSION OF THE GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE VICITM COORDINATOR AND <br /> LIAISON POSITION THROUGH THEOFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL; <br /> DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER AS THE GRANTTEE'S AUTHORIZED OFFICIAL; <br /> FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> Legal Name of Applicant: City of La Porte,Texas <br /> Unique Application Number: 2022-0018458445 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has applied for or wishes to apply to the Office of the Attorney General <br /> (OAG)for the Victim Coordinator and Liaison Grant(VCLG);and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council of The City of La Porte has considered and supports the Application filed <br /> or to be filed with the Office of the Attorney General;and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has designated or wishes to designate Corby Alexander,City Manager, <br /> as the"Authorized Official"who is given or has been given the power to apply for, accept,reject,alter or <br /> terminate the Victim Coordinator and Liaison Grant (VCLG) with the Office of the Attorney General <br /> (OAG), as well as given the authority to sign all grant adjustment requests, inventory reports, progress <br /> reports,and financial reports or any other official documents related to the grant on behalf of the grantee. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> LA PORTE,TEXAS,THAT: <br /> Section 1. That The City of La Porte City Council authorizes the Victim Coordinator and Liaison Position <br /> be acquired through a grant for fiscal years 2022-2023, and further authorizes and approves <br /> submission of the grant application for the Victim Coordinator and Liaison Position, via the <br /> Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas. <br /> Section 2. The City of La Porte designates the City Manager, Corby Alexander, as the grantee's <br /> authorized official. <br /> Section 3. The City of La Porte agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the Attorney <br /> General funds,the City of La Porte assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the <br /> Attorney General in full; and; agrees that it will appropriate any matching funds in support of <br /> the grant, if applicable. <br /> Section 4. The City Council officially finds, determines, recites, and declares that a sufficient written <br /> notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a <br /> place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding <br /> this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code; <br /> and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during which <br /> this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed,considered and formally acted <br /> upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the <br /> contents and posting thereof. <br /> Section 5. This resolution shall be in effect from and after its passage and approval. <br />
