RESOLUTION 2021-44 <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS § <br />§ KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br />COUNTY OF HARRIS § <br />RESOLUTION AND ORDER <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte, La Porte Independent School District, Harris County, <br />Hams County Education Department, Port of Houston of Harris County Authority, <br />Harris County Flood Control District, Harris County Hospital District and San Jacinto <br />Community College District ("Taxing Authorities') foreclosed on a property ("the <br />property') through a delinquent tax lawsuit and judgment identified as follows: <br />Lots 21, 22 & 23, Block 1114, Town of La Porte, Harris County, <br />Texas, as shown on the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 60, <br />Page 115, of the Deed Records of Harris County, Texas. Account No. <br />024-191-000-0021 <br />WHEREAS, the Taxing Authorities remain unpaid after exhausting all legal means to <br />satisfy the collection of the delinquent taxes due and owing to the Taxing Authorities, <br />including conducting a public auction of the property by the Harris County Constable <br />whereby the property was stack off to the Taxing Authorities and; <br />WHEREAS, being no bids for the property at the tax sale on October 2, 2012, the City of <br />La Porte, Trustee for itself and the other Taxing Authorities, now holds the property in <br />trust to secure the payment of taxes, penalties, interest and costs owed to all Taxing <br />Authorities participating in the foreclosure judgment; <br />WHEREAS, the property held in trust by the City of La Porte, Trustee for itself and the <br />other Taxing Authorities, is exempt from taxation and it is in the best interest of the <br />Taxing Authorities to have the property returned to the active tax roll as a taxable <br />property; <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has received an offer of $18,700.00 to purchase the <br />property from the Juan L. Solitaire. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED by the City of La Porte: <br />1. That all of the above paragraphs are true, correct and in the best interest of the <br />City of La Porte and all the other Taxing Authorities, and as such they are hereby <br />incorporated in full and made part of this Resolution; <br />2. That the City of La Porte accepts the tax resale offer by Juan L. Solitaire and <br />authorizes the Mayor of the City of La Porte to sign and execute the deed on <br />behalf of the City of La Porte as Trustee for itself and the other Taxing <br />Authorities, to transfer title to the individual submitting the offer to purchase the <br />property. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
