RESOLUTION 2023- 04 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte foreclosed on a property ("the property") through a delinquent tax <br />lawsuit and judgment identified as follows: <br />LOTS 4 & 5, BLOCK 423, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS AS SHOWN ON THE <br />MAPS OR PLATS RECORDED IN THE REAL PROPERTY RECORDS OF HARRIS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING THAT ACCOUNT SHOWN IN THE MAPS AND <br />RECORDS OF THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT UNDER ACCOUNT <br />NUMBER 024-030-023-0004 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte remains unpaid after exhausting all legal means to satisfy the collection <br />of the delinquent taxes due and owing to the City of La Porte, including conducting a public auction of <br />the property by the Harris County Sheriff whereby the property was struck off to the City of La Porte and; <br />WHEREAS, being no bids for the property at the tax sale on July 5, 1977, the City of La Porte now holds <br />the property in trust to secure the payment of taxes, penalties, interest and costs owed to the City of La <br />Porte; <br />WHEREAS, the property held in trust by the City of La Porte is exempt from taxation and it is in the best <br />interest of the City of La Porte to have the property returned to the active lax roll as a taxable property; <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has received an offer of S1,500.00 to purchase the property from Gus <br />Brieden. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED by the City ofLa Porte: <br />1. That all of the above paragraphs are true, correct and in the best interest of the City of La Porte <br />and as such they are hereby incorporated in full and made a part of this Resolution; <br />2.
