RESOLUTION 2024-07 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte foreclosed on a property ("the property") through a delinquent tax lawsuit <br />and judgment identified as follows: <br />LOT 5 IN BLOCK 77 OF TOWN OF LA PORTE, AN ADDITION IN HARRIS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED <br />IN VOLUME 8, PAGE 16 OF THE MAP RECORDS OF HARMS COUNTY, TEXAS. <br />ACCOUNT NUMBER: 023-202-077-0005 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte remains unpaid after exhausting all legal means to satisfy the collection <br />of the delinquent taxes due and owing to the City of La Porte, including conducting a public auction of the <br />property by the Harris County Constables whereby the property was struck off to the City of La Porte; and <br />WHEREAS, being no bids for the property at the tax sale on August 4, 2015, the City of La Porte now <br />holds the property in trust to secure the payment of taxes, penalties, interest, and costs owed to the City of <br />La Porte; and <br />WHEREAS, the property held in trust by the City of La Porte is exempt from taxation and it is in the best <br />interest of the City of La Porte to have the property returned to the active tax roll as a taxable property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has received an offer of $6,423.79 to purchase the property from Nicolas <br />Ortiz. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED by the City of La Porte: <br />1. That all of the above paragraphs are true, correct and in the best interest of the City of La Porte and as <br />such they are hereby incorporated in full and made a part of this resolution. <br />2.
