~ • <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />MINUTES. <br />MAY 9, 1990 <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 6:12 P.M. by Chairman Guy <br />Sutherland. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Guy Sutherland, Vice-Chairman <br />Larry Tucker, Secretary Steve Gillett, Members Cliff Hyde <br />and John Ladd <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Members Mike Miller and Deborah Rihn <br />OTHERS PRESENT: None <br />2. The minutes of the April 11, 1990 regular meeting were read. <br />Motion was made by Member John Ladd, seconded by Member <br />Cliff Hyde to approve the minutes as presented. Motion was <br />unanimous. <br />3. Chairman Guy Sutherland requested the Chairman's Report be <br />moved up to report that he had submitted his resignation due <br />to his election to City Council. <br />He questioned Member Cliff Hyde regarding gyroplane opera- <br />tions since the last meeting. Mr. Hyde reported that he had <br />one report of a gyroplane operator cutting off a plane in <br />the pattern, but had not seen them operating lately. <br />Chairman Guy Sutherland than turned the meeting over to <br />Vice-Chairman Larry Tucker. <br />4. Regarding selection of an engineering firm to provide an <br />Airport Master Plan, Vice-Chairman Larry Tucker discussed <br />the Selection Committee's findings. He advised that the <br />Committee, consisting of Deborah Rihn, Steve Gillett, and <br />himself, had chosen Turner, Collie & Braden as initial first <br />choice, with Coffman & Associates as initial second choice, <br />from a total of four applicant companies. Because there <br />were some unanswered questions regarding the two proposals, <br />the Selection Committee would interview both firms next <br />Tuesday. Mr. Gillett passed out copies of correspondence <br />outlining the choices, and the format and selection criteria <br />for the interviews. The Committee will return Tuesday, May <br />15, for a special called meeting to approve the final <br />selection. <br />Member Cliff Hyde expressed his concern about the length of <br />time each candidate company indicated it would take to <br />complete the Master Plan. Steve Gillett stated a shorter <br />timeframe could be negotiated and incorporated in the <br />contract. Another consideration is whether a company is <br />
