<br />ChaDter 172 EmDlovee Retiree Insurance and Benefits Board MeetinQ Minutes <br /> <br />Notice is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Chapter 172 Employee Retiree Insurance and <br />Benefits Board to be held on August 5, 2010 at 5:30 PM, in the Police Department Training <br />Room, 3001 N. 23rd St., La Porte, Texas, regarding the items according to the agenda below: <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:39 pm <br /> <br />2. Consider approval of minutes from July 13,2010 meeting <br />Clark made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, Martha seconded, the motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />3. Receive initial report from Willis of Texas, Inc. on the results of the Request for <br />Proposals for the City's Medical Benefits. <br />Received report on Request for Proposals from Lesley Hagen with Willis of Texas, the City's <br />Benefits Consultant. The Committee agreed to narrow the carriers down to three, Texas <br />Municipal League, Aetna and Cigna. Lesley stated she was going to request Best and Final <br />Offers from those three carriers. She would also ask Aetna to allow the other carriers to <br />process exact claims processed by Aetna so the Committee would be able to compare actual <br />discounts. <br /> <br />4. Discuss Medical Costs for 2011 <br />There were no questions or discussions <br /> <br />5. Administrative Reports <br />None <br /> <br />6. Board Comments <br />a. Matters appearing on the agenda <br />b. Inquiry of staff regarding specific factual information or existing policy <br /> <br />Aaron mentioned that Aetna had the greatest number of providers and that information <br />should be considered. <br /> <br />7. Adjournment <br />The Meeting was adjourned at 6:17 pm <br /> <br />There may be a possible quorum of City council present at this meeting and may <br />participate in discussion at this meeting, however, they will not vote on matters. <br /> <br />This facility has disability accommodations available.
