<br />Pursuant to call by the I:Iayor, the City Council of
<br />the City of La Porte, Texas, held a special meeting in the City
<br />Hall, i~z the said City of La Porte, Texas, at ive o'clock,
<br />_______ 1x. , on J~~~bs,1~_~second , 193, at which meeting the ~:ayor
<br />and all of the 1'~ldermen mere prese~it.
<br />The Hayor,~A. I~'. ~cKAY, called the meeting to order,
<br />and, upon motion duly made and seconded, the following resolu-
<br />tion eras adopted by unanimous vote, said resolution being as
<br />follows:
<br />"BE I1 RESOLVED BY THE CITY CJUiJCIL OF ^1~iiE CITY
<br />c:F LA PORTS, TB~tAS, that the contract heretofore en-
<br />tered into by and bettaeen the City of La Porte, Texas,
<br />and the Southern Engine & Pump Company, dated October
<br />2nd, 1933, regarding the drilling by said Southern En-
<br />;~ gine & Pump Comoany of a 10~" crell completely equipped
<br />with 32.75 casing anc- St.ancliff Brz. strainer, fully
<br />developed and installed therein and the purchase from
<br />and installation by said Southern Engine & Pump Com-
<br />pany of one r1o. 10 Pomona deep Drell 1750 R.P.i~i. Tur-
<br />bine Pump, complete with 20 H.P. motor, and starting
<br />snitch, for the sum of X45,250.00 - SJ750.00 cash on
<br />completion and balance at (200.00 per month, r~ith ~%
<br />interest on aeferred payments and 10°Jo interest on
<br />past-due payments and the customary attorneys fee
<br />-~~ clause, be 2nd the same is hereby in all things rat-
<br />~u~~, ified and confirmed as the act and deed of the City
<br />of La Porte, ^lexas; and
<br />"That all matters required to be done thereunder
<br />by the Southern Engine & Pwnp Company be and the same
<br />are hereby i:z all things accepted and approved as com-
<br />pleted; and
<br />"That the liayor and City secretary be and they
<br />are hereby authorised on behalf of the City of La
<br />Porte, Texas, to deliver to the Southern Engine &
<br />Pump Com,~any all cash called for under said contract
<br />upon completion anc~ e:~ecute, issue and deliver to the
<br />said Southern Engine ~ Pump Company on behalf of the
<br />Gity of La Porte, Texas, tcrenty (22) promissory notes

<br />~ numbered 1 to 22, both inclusive, is the sum of
<br />~;~200.00 each - I~Tote Igo. 1 to be payable on the 23rd
