J. <br />Pfeiffer >R3.th the fallowing members and city officials prosent : Commiss- <br />ioner Crate, Supt. of Public Works Raleigh Erwin, John T. Mc Afee and Wm. <br />Maness, representing Wyatt C. Hedrick, City Engineer, Carl C. Patrick, City <br />Attorney, and J.E. Mu~l.doon, City Clerk. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Pfeiffer, that Ordinance No. 374, being <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRIATG THE 0~'VNEftS OF CITY PROPMtTY TO CEP Q~OSER ALL GREASE <br />TRAPS, SEPTIC TANKS AND OTHER APEEtTtktES THAT AftE CONNECTER V~ITH CR IN ANY <br />MANNER OPEN INTO THE SEWAGE LINES OF THE CITY OF LA PCRTE, TEXAS; AUTHORI~LNG <br />THE RE~SO©AL OF ALL GREASE TRAPS, SEPTIC TANISS AND OTHER APERTLRES B Y'IFiE CITY <br />OF LA PORTS UPON THE FAILURE OF ANY PROPERTY OWNER Ta AMPLY WITH THE PROVI- <br />SIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE AND FURTH'a PRESCRIBING A FINE NOT TO EKCEFD T91fBJTY- <br />FNE DOLLARS {25,00) FOR THE FAILURE OR REFUSAL TO C OMPLY ~IIITH THIS ORDINANCE <br />AITER NOTICE, <br />be adopted as read. <br />Carried. <br />Mr. Clyde Agee appeared before the Co:mm.ssiou stating he represented a number <br />of business men and. requested the city to discontinue the use of the parking <br />m®ters, cr at least d3.scontinue 13~ an far one month and then let the people <br />decide by vote if they wanted them. The Cc~anmission informed Mr, Agee they <br />would t ake his plea under advisement. <br />283 <br />City Attorroy Carl C, Patrick rendered an opinion that the Alley in Block <br />1102, La Porte (Jce Thomas) should not be abandoned. The Ccanmission instructed <br />the City Clerk to advise Mr. Thomas of this ruling. <br />The Ccxnaission unanimously authorized the City Clerk to waive the deposit <br />for water ser~rice at Boy's Harbor. <br />The Commission instructed the City Attorney to contact Mrs. Dot Lemon with <br />the Houst~ International Air Speedrtuz, and call her attention to paragraph <br />2 in contract with the City in connection with press releases, and other <br />publiatty which should mention that speedrun and airshcnP is to be held at <br />the La Porte Municipal Airport. <br />Motion by Grate, second by Pfeiffer, that the meeting adjourn. <br />ATTEST: <br />. con, Y y er o er, City <br />City of .La Porte, Texas of La Porte, Texas <br />
