• • <br />MIhTMJTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSIOAI - JUt~ 16TH, 1961 <br />7:00 P. M. <br />Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P. <br />Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Commissioners Brown, Dunham, <br />Stabs and Osborn, Attorney Pitman, Supt. Arthur, Asst, Supt. Cunningham, <br />and City Clerk Frank G. Baker. <br />Also present were J. 0. Rollins, Carlos Smith, Jim Ho.uey and Elsie Moore, <br />(Press), and Mr. Holly~s daughter, Linda Holley. <br />Mirrutes of the last regular and special meeting were read and at~proved. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Brown, that City Clerk be authorized to pur chase <br />one X1,000.00 bond held by Maroney Bessner & Company, Inc., due in 1975. <br />Carried, <br />Motion by Osburn~ second by Brown, that L. E. "Sonny" Mc Key be paid for <br />sewer line around block 1158, in the amount of $2,398.00. <br />Carried. <br />Attorney Pitman read a portion of the answer of Pasadena and La Porte to the <br />suit filed by the City of Houston pertaining to the deannexation. <br />Attorney Pitman was authorized to draw a contract pertaining to Airport <br />Highway. <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Stabs, that City forgive taxes for the years <br />1954 through 1950, inclu live, on Lots 1, 2, 3, Block Bay Front, Bayshore <br />Park. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Brown, second by Stabs, that the Certificate of Acceptance and <br />Certificate of Completion on street paving and storm sewers, be signed by <br />the City Clerk and Mayor. Acceptance conditioned on payment to L. F. (Sonny) <br />McKey for work performed for Century Construction Company. <br />Carried, <br />A letter report of the meeting of the Board of Adjustment, held April 19, <br />1961, axed the May 17th meeting, was presented to the Commission, signed by <br />Mr. RSA, Mc Glendon, Chairman of the Board of Adjustment and by Mrs. Elsie <br />Moore. Report ~*as placed in City files. <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Brown, that Mr. Dicus be notified by registered <br />mail that he will be given 45 days to correct the carport which is in violation <br />of the Zoning Ordinance. Attorney Pitman will draw notice. <br />Carried. <br />
