<br />MIPdUTES -REGULAR MEETING <br />of the <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />February 1, 1965 <br />7:00 PM <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, <br />Commissioners Frank G. Baker, lN. A. Stabs, Jr., Tom W. <br />Osburn and Russell Shepherd. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney C. L. Pitman, <br />City Clerk Clovis D. Mann, Chief of Police Herbert Freeman, <br />and Water Superintendent Lyman Cunningham. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />1. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 18, 1965, were <br />read and approved with the following amendments: <br /> Item No. 11, (Page 269), amended to insert the name of <br /> "Mar,~hall Dickenson" as the volunteer fireman due re- <br /> imbursement for doctor and medical expenses upon presen- <br />. tation of bills and/or invoices. <br /> Item No. 2, (Page 267), last paragraph on page 267 to be <br /> amended to show that "City Attorney C. L. Pitman stated <br /> that based upon the evidence submitted to him, there had <br /> not been a proper dedication of the street under question," <br /> instead of that as shown in the minutes as his statement. <br /> + + + <br /> 2. After careful consideration and considerable discussion in <br /> regards to the request to open Donaldson Street and grant <br /> passageway to the Bay, Commissioner Stabs made a motion, <br /> seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that the City Attorney <br /> notify representatives of the Morrow Estates to remove the <br /> fence from across Donaldson Street and furnish adequate <br /> access to the Bay within two (2) weeks from date of receipt <br /> of notification; further, that all costs involved be borne <br /> by the Morrow heirs. Motion carried. <br /> + + + <br /> 3. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissione7 <br /> Stabs, that authorization be given to proceed with the <br /> necessary action to facilitate Child Day Care facilities <br /> for the Northside.
