272 <br />• <br />MINUTES -SPECIAL MEETING <br />of the <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />February 8, 1g65 <br />7:00 PM <br />A joint meeting of the City Commission and the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall <br />on February 8, 1865, at 7:00 PM, to consider zoning of <br />Blocks g8 and 337, Town of La Porte, to "Class B <br />Commercial." <br />MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. <br />Pfeiffer, Commissioners Frank G. <br />and Russell Shepherd. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION ABSENT: <br />Tom W. Osburn. <br />Baker, 4V. A. Stabs, Jr <br />Commissioner <br />MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PRESENT: <br />Commissioners Walter Roberson, Elsie Moore, Jack <br />Oliphant and Jack Smith. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney C. L. Pitman <br />and City Clerk Clovis D. Mann. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />1. It was ascertained that notices to all property owners <br />__.. within 200 feet of Blocks 98 and 337, Town of La Porte, <br />were mailed on January 25, 1865, and that a Public <br />Notice of this hearing was published three consecutive <br />times in the official newspaper of the city, on <br />January 14th, 21st and 28th, 1965• <br />No objections to the proposed zoning were rendered. <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission then voted to <br />recommend the proposed zoning. <br />Based upon this recommendation, Commissioner Stabs made <br />a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that Block <br />g8 and 33?, La Porte Addition, be classified as Class <br />"B" Commercial, and that the City Attorney be authorize <br />to prepare the necessary ordinance. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />2. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by Commis <br />Shepherd, and carried, that the Public Hearing be <br />closed. <br />JOINT MEETING.
