Stabs, Jr. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CG1MM/SS/ON ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Aftorney Knox Ask ins, <br />Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, City Engineer <br />H. Carlos Smith, Water Superintendent Lyman <br />Cunningham, Street Superintendent Clifford ECiis, <br />and City Clerk Marilyn Kelley. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer <br />+ + + <br />1. Minutes of the Regular meeting of July 19, 1965 <br />were approved as written. <br />~ + + + <br />2. Mr. Gus Roth appeared before the Commission to request <br />that the alley in Block 147 be closed. Mr. Roth <br />was requested~to ask the owner to submit a written <br />request for the closing and further secure letters <br />from the other Utility Companies stating that they <br />have no objection. <br />+ + + <br />3. Mrs. John Wilson thanked the Commission for <br />providing the land for the New Library Building, <br />for giving the public an opportunity to express <br />their desire by voting the bonds, for aiding in <br />securing FederaL~Funds, and for tncluding fhe <br />Library in the 1965=66 Budget. Mayor Pfeiffer <br />accepted the thanks and expressed the Commission's <br />appreciation to the many persons who have been so <br />dedicated to helping to provide adequate Library <br />facilities for La Porte. <br />+ + + <br />..1I~ . ,. <br /> <br /> <br />
