• <br />MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 19, 1984 <br />1. The Special Called Meeting of the La Porte City Council was <br />called to order by Mayor Cline at 5:00 P.M. <br />Members of the Cit Council Present: Mayor Virginia Cline, <br />Counci persons Lin say P ei er, E Matuszak, Linda Westergren, <br />John Longley, and B. Don Skelton <br />Members of the Cit. Council Absent: Councilpersons Deotis Gay, <br />Norman Ma one, an Kevin Graves <br />Members of the Cit Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Attorney Knox As ins, Assistant City Secretary Laura Hall <br />• <br />Others Present: David Fetzer and Pete Fisher, representatives <br />o Moroney-Beissner; Cary Burnley, Vice-President of College <br />View Municipal Utility District; Ms. Arands, Bayshore Sun- <br />Broadcaster; Sherri Carver, Baytown Sun <br />2. Council considered approving official notice of sale and <br />official statement to be used in connection with College View <br />Municipal Utility District combination tax and revenue bonds <br />series 1984. <br />David Fetzer-and Pete Fisher of Moroney-Beissner presented <br />information regarding the official notice of sale and official <br />statement to be used in connection with: College, View Municipal <br />Utility District combination tax and revenue bonds series 1984. <br />Mr. Fetzer mentioned that the date of the sale is February 21st <br />of this year in the District's offices and that the bonds will <br />become effective March 27, 1984, when the District is dissolved. <br />Mr. Fisher said the bonds are being issued in registered form <br />and have an optional feature of the City being given the <br />opportunity to call the bonds in 1994 (for 1995 out) due, <br />and refinance at a lower interest rate. The maximum interest <br />rate now allowed by law would be 15%. the proceeds of the <br />sale will be used on the water and sewer system within the <br />District. <br />Mr. Fisher stated that First City National Bank had been <br />named paying agent (registrar) for the bonds and that the bonds <br />will be delivered March 26, 1984. <br /> <br />
