The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00'p.m. <br /> <br />Members of City Council present: Mayor Virginia C~ine, <br />Councilpersons Lindsay Pfeiffer, B. Don Skelton, Linda <br />Westergren, Norman Malone, John Longley, and'Ed Matuszak. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Absent:Councilpersons Deotis Gay, <br />and Kevin Graves. . <br /> <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, <br />Director of Administrative Services Bob Herrera, Police <br />Chief Herb Freeman, Public Works Director Jerry Hodge, <br />Purchasing Agent Jackson Ray, Finance Officer Debbie Cole, <br />and Administrative Intern Doug de la Morena. <br /> <br />f <br />\... <br /> <br />Others present: <br />Hovey, Dr. Jaime <br />Arlene Arends o.f <br />citizens. <br /> <br />Mary Betros, Charlie Pritchard, Eugene <br />:Benray, Sherri Carver of the Bay town Sun, <br />the Bayshore Sun-Broadcaster, and four (4) <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The invocation was given by City Attorney Knox Askins. <br /> <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the regular <br />meeting held March 21, '1984. <br /> <br />Motion was made b Council erson Malone <br />minutes as presented. Secon e y Counc~ <br />The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Pfeiffer, Skelton, Westergren, Malone, <br />Matuszak, and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Mayor Cline made. the presentation of the "Employee of <br />Quarter" to Mary Betros of the Purchasing Department. <br />Cline praised Mrs. Betros for her outstanding work in <br />department. <br /> <br />Councilperson Graves arrived at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />5. Public Hearing was opened. The request to rezone outlots <br />18,19,20,21, and 22 from residential to commercial was <br />discussed. <br /> <br />the <br />Mayor <br />her <br /> <br />Mr. Charles Pritchard, speaking for Decker Mc Kim spoke in <br />favor of the rezoning. Mr.Prit~hard discussed and answered <br />'- questions concerning the rezoning. <br />
