The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob <br />McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell, Jerry <br />Clarke <br />Members of City Council Absent: None <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant <br />City Manager John Joerns, Director of Administrative Services <br />Louis Rigby, Planning Director Chuck Harrington, Police Chief <br />Bobby Powell, Fire Chief Joe Sease, Director of Public Works <br />Steve Gillett, Director of Parks & Recreation Stan Sherwood, <br />Golf Pro Alex Osmond, Finance Director Jeff Litchfield, Street <br />Superintendent Orville Burgess, Golf Course Superintendent <br />Dennis Hlavaty, Utility Superintendent Curtis Herrod, <br />Marketing Coordinator Laura Hudgins, Buyer Susan Kelley <br />Others Present: Retiree Bill Fitzsimmons; Dee Williamson, <br />Jake Williamson, Mike Pulpin, representing FFA and 4H; Keith <br />Carlson, Mitchell Carlson & Associates; Peggy Warnock, <br />Librarian at Edith Wilson library; 7 citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Porter. <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the regular <br />meeting held March 1, 1993. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Cooper to approve the March <br />1 minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson Thrower. The <br />motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson McLaughlin <br />4. The Mayor proclaimed the week of April 5 through 8, 1993, as <br />FFA/4H Week. Dee Williamson, Jake Williamson and Mike Pulpin <br />accepted the proclamation. <br />5. Retiree Bill Fitzsimmons was honored for his service to the <br />City. The Mayor commended Bill on his accomplishments. Steve <br />Gillett presented Bill with an engraved gold watch as a token <br />of the City's gratitude. <br />
