CALL TO ORDER and WELCOME <br />Mayor Rigby called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Members of Council present: <br />Councilmembers Zemanek, Kaminski, Mosteit and Moser. Also present were City Secretary <br />Patrice Fogarty, City Manager Corby Alexander, Assistant City Manager Traci Leach, Economic <br />Development Coordinator Scott Livingston and Public Relations and Marketing Specialist Jaree <br />Hefner. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />DISCUSSION — City Manager Corby Alexander introduced Councilmembers and staff present prior <br />to staff providing information regarding current marketing efforts and how those impact Main Street <br />businesses. <br />Public Relations and Marketing Specialist Jaree Hefner provided information on the website, <br />commercials and all promoting efforts for Main Street. <br />Economic Development Coordinator Scott Livingston provided information on the La Porte <br />Enhancement Grant Program and explained the program is a matching grant program sponsored <br />by the La Porte Development Corporation to stimulate re -development along limited portions of <br />Main Street and South Broadway. Main Street business owners were advised eligible projects of <br />the program include fagade renovations, beautification projects, new awnings, canopies, porches <br />and signage. There were several questions and comments by the business owners to promote <br />Main Street. Staff will be contacting those who were in attendance to schedule a quarterly <br />"roundtable" to ensure lines of communication remain open. <br />Assistant City Manager Traci Leach provided an update on proposed LED signage along SH 146. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS regarding matters appearing on the agenda; recognition of community <br />members, city employees, and upcoming events; inquiry of staff regarding specific factual <br />information or existing policies. <br />There were no comments from Councilmembers. <br />ADJOURN —There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m. <br />Patrice Fogarty, Ci ecret <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />February 27, 2014, Town Hall/ Special Meeting Minutes <br />
