CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Rigby called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Members of Council present: <br />Councilmembers Kaminski, Clausen, Earp, Leonard, and Martin. Absent: Councilmembers <br />Engelken, Moser and Zemanek. Also present were Assistant City Secretary Sharon Harris, City <br />Manager Corby Alexander, and Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins. <br />2. INVOCATION - The invocation was given by Windell Gill, First Baptist Church of La Porte. <br />3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Dottie <br />Kaminski. <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS (Limited to five minutes per person.) <br />Barbara Norwine, 202 S. Lobit, spoke in support of an Ordinance allowing the sale of alcoholic <br />beverages for on -premises consumption at Broadway Cafe. <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA (All consent agenda items are considered routine by City Council and will be enacted <br />by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember requests an <br />item be removed and considered separately.) <br />(a) Consider approval or other action regarding the minutes of the Regular Meeting, including a <br />Budget Workshop Meeting held on August 11-12, 2014 and the minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting held on August 25, 2014— S. Harris <br />(b) Consider approval or other action regarding a Resolution authorizing the resale of certain <br />tax delinquent properties located in Block 201, Lots 9,10 & 11 and Block 201, Lot 12, Town <br />of La Porte — K. Powell <br />(c) Consider approval or other action authorizing the City Manager to execute an amended <br />agreement between the City of La Porte and the La Porte Boy's Baseball Association <br />regarding the use of Designated Youth Baseball Facilities (This item was pulled from the <br />agenda at the August 25, 2014 meeting) — T. Epting <br />(d) Consider approval or other action regarding an Ordinance vacating, abandoning, and <br />closing the northernmost 159' of the alley in Block 715, La Porte; retaining a 16' foot wide <br />utility easement — T. Tietjens <br />(e) Consider approval or other action awarding Bid No. 14028 for Temporary Personnel <br />Services — Solid Waste Worker — D.
