CALL TO ORDER — Mayor Rigby called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. All members of Council <br /> were present: Councilmembers Ojeda, Zemanek, J. Martin, K. Martin, Bentley, Engelken, and Earp. <br /> Staff present: City Secretary Patrice Fogarty and H.R. Manager Matt Hartleib. <br /> 2. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION — Interview, discuss, and consider candidates for the <br /> position of City Secretary of the City of La Porte, Texas. <br /> 3. CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> The City Council reserves the right to meet in closed session on any agenda item should the <br /> need arise and if applicable pursuant to authorization by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas <br /> Government Code. Notice is hereby given that the City Council may go into Executive <br /> Session in accordance with the following provision of the Texas Government Code: <br /> At 5:01 p.m. Mayor Rigby announced Council would go into executive session regarding <br /> Texas Government Code, Section 551.074 - Personnel Matters: Conduct interviews of <br /> candidates for the position of City Secretary, and deliberate the evaluation, appointment, <br /> duties, and employment of a public officer or employee: the City Secretary. <br /> Three city secretary candidates/applicants were present. They were taken in one at a time for an <br /> interview. <br /> 4. RECONVENE into regular session and consider action, if any, on item(s) discussed in <br /> Executive Session. <br /> Mayor Rigby reconvened the meeting at 8:16 p.m. He thanked each of the candidates for <br /> coming to the meeting. He stated they do not have a decision at this time. Council has <br /> given direction to H.R. Manager Matt Hartleib and Mayor Rigby to gather additional <br /> information, and they will be holding a special called meeting in the very near future to, <br /> hopefully, finalize everything. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> November 14, 2018, Council Meeting Minutes <br />
