INVOCATION — The invocation was given by Rev. Brian Christen, La Porte Community Church, and <br />pledges were led by Councilperson Rick Helton. <br />3. ELECTION MATTERS <br />a. Presentation of Statements of Elected Official, Oaths of Office, and Certificates of Election <br />to newly elected officials Brent McCaulley, Mandi Williams, and Robbie McLarrin. CONSIDERATION OF COUNCILPERSON ABSENCES <br />a. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to excuse the absence of Councilperson Bill <br />Bentley from the May 8, 2023, regular City Council meeting. [Louis R. Rigby, Mayor] <br />Councilperson Engelken moved to excuse the absence of Councilperson Bill Bentley from the <br />May 6 2023 regular City Council meeting: the motion was seconded by Councilperson McCaulley, <br />the motion was adopted, 8-0. <br />7.
