MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />Councilpersons Present: Rick Helton, Brandon Lunsford, Brent McCaulley, Mandi <br />Williams, Chuck Engelken, Bill Bentley, Robert Guerra, Jay <br />Martin, Robbie McLarrin <br />Councilpersons Attending Remotely: None <br />Councilpersons Absent: None <br />Council -appointed Officers Present: Corby Alexander, City Manager, Clark T. Askins, <br />City Attorney, Lee Woodward, City Secretary <br />The City Council of the City of La Porte met in a regular meeting <br />on February 24, 2025, at the City Hall Council Chambers, <br />604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 6:00 p.m. <br />1. Call to Order - Mayor Helton called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br />2. Invocation and Pledges of Allegiance <br />Reverend Brian Christen of La Porte Community Church provided an invocation and <br />Victoria and Giuliana Olivares led the pledges. <br />3. Citizen Comment <br />Suzy Smith thanked the Council for the improvements at Brookglen and for Victor. <br />She also asked the Council to consider a second person at the Center, having two <br />persons on field trips, working on expansion for the future, and a shed for the <br />decorations and programming materials. Gus Brieden said his property at 1911 West <br />Main was taken off the truck route and asked how to get it back on it. William Whitney <br />of Bayside Terrace asked for compensation for his and his wife's vehicles due to <br />damage during the drainage work near their home and was directed to speak with <br />Assistant City Manager Matt Daeumer. <br />4. Consent Agenda <br />a. Approve the minutes of the February 10, 2025, regular City Council meeting. <br />[Lee Woodward, City Secretary] <br />b. Sponsorship LPEF Golf Tournament - Approve a request for City of La Porte <br />sponsorship of the La Porte Education Foundation in an amount not to <br />exceed $2,500.00, as the presenting sponsor for the 219t Annual Golf <br />Tournament for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.
