At 4:47 pm the Police Civil Service Commission Meeting was called to order by Commission <br />Chairman Keith Trainer. <br /> <br />Commission members in attendance: <br />Commission Chair, Mr. Keith Trainer <br />Vice-Chair, Mr. Les Bird <br />Commissioner, Mr. Larry Cox. <br /> <br />Others in attendance: <br />City Attorney, Clark Askins <br />Police Chief Richard Reff <br />Civil Service Director, Robert Swanagan. <br /> <br />2. Consider approval of minutes from the April 9, 2007 meeting. <br />The Commissioners reviewed the 04/0912007 meeting minutes. Motion was made by <br />Commissioner Les Bird to accept the meeting minutes as written. The motion was seconded <br />by Commissioner Larry Cox. The motion carried. <br /> <br />3. Consider approval or other action to change La Porte Police Civil Service Rules and <br />Regulations to allow Civil Service test candidates to provide notice of intention to take test <br />through email transmission. <br />Chief Reff requested the Commission consider a modification of section 10.10 of La Porte's <br />Civil Service rules to allow Officer's to provide their notice of written consent through the <br />email system. It would make it easier for Officer on all shift to provide the necessary <br />notification of intent and would further provide a tracking mechanism indicating date and <br />time receive and the return acknowledgement from the Civil Service Director. This change <br />would add "...in person or via Email to the Civil Service Director City Email Account." <br />After discussion the Commissioner Larry Cox made a motion that the change to Section <br />10.10 be adopted and incorporated in the La Porte Civil Service Rules. The motion was <br />seconded and the motion carried (copy of Section 10.10 attached). <br /> <br />4. Consider approval or other action regarding certification of Sergeants and Lieutenants <br />promotional eligibility lists. <br /> <br />1 <br />
