<br />Police Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />April 7, 2008 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br />The Police Civil Service Commission Meeting was called to order at <br />11 :36 am <br /> <br />Commission members in attendance: <br />Keith Trainer, Commission Chair <br />Les Bird, Commission Vice-Chair <br />Heather Weger, Civil Service Director <br /> <br />Others in attendance: <br />Richard Reff, Chief of Police <br />Mike Garcia, Civil Service Commissioner <br /> <br />2. Consider approval of minutes from February 1, 2008 meeting <br />Motion made to approve minutes made by Les Bird, seconded by Keith <br />Trainer <br /> <br />3. Administer Oath of Office to new member, Michael Garcia <br />Oath of Office was administered by Heather Weger <br /> <br />4. Review and discuss Civil Service Entrance Exam <br />Keith Trainer stated he was very pleased with the applicant base and the <br />help provided by the officers. He felt there was a good mix of applicants <br />and a high number of passing grades. He also commended the officers' <br />professionalism. <br /> <br />5. Receive report on hiring process of applicants that passed the Civil Service <br />Entrance Exam. <br />Chief stated that they are beginning to process the backgrounds of the first <br />10 or so applicants that have turned in their packets. The Chief would like <br />to enroll applicants in the Pasadena Police Academy that begins in July. <br />Two of the applicants that passed the exam are currently in the Pasadena <br />Police Academy and are doing very well. <br /> <br />6. Administrative Reports <br />None <br /> <br />7. Adjournment <br />The Police Civil Service Meeting was adjourned at 12:04 pm. <br /> <br />K~~ <br />
