<br />MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE <br />March 1,2010 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Mosteit at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Committee Members Present: Chairman Mike Mosteit, Vice Chairman Mike Clausen, <br />Members Chuck Engelken, Louis Rigby and Alternate Member Daryl Leonard. <br /> <br />Committee Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Other Council members Present: None <br /> <br />Members of City Emplovees Present: City Manager Ron Bottoms, Assistant City Manager <br />John Joerns, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Public Works Director Steve Gillett, Planning <br />Director Tim Tietjens, Officer Chris Paige and City Engineer Rodney Slaton <br /> <br />Others present: Margaret Compton, Charles Nute, Gary Struzick, Cynthia Kelsch, Steven <br />Howell, John J. Saavedra, Fern Lively, Wayne Lively, Jones L. Woods, Larry Dunbar, Mac <br />Duson, Cheryl Westmoreland, Richard Winn, Joe Rodriguez, Joseph H. Russell Jr., John <br />P. Zemanek Jr. and David Janda. <br /> <br />2. Consider approval of Minutes of Drainage and Flooding Committee Meeting held on <br />February 16, 2010 - M. Gillett. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Rigby to approve the minutes as presented. <br />Second by Committee Member Engelken. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Clausen, Engelken and Rigby <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />3. Petitions, Remonstrance's, communications, and citizens and taxpayers wishing to <br />address the Drainage and Flooding Committee. <br /> <br />Ed and Fern Lively -11526 N. H. Street - questioned the $2.00 drainage fee. Advised the <br />committee they should not be charged a fee if they are not receiving any services. They <br />are under the impression that the drainage in that area is being handled by Harris County. <br />If the City is providing services, they would like to know what services are being provided. <br /> <br />In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Lively advised the committee of an area near H. Street and <br />Battleview where the property was built up and is now causing flooding. <br /> <br />Mac Duson - 4709 Austin Street, Houston, Texas 77004 - attorney for Fairmont Park East <br />Homeowner's Association. The HOA is recommending 5A with the following amendments: <br /> <br />1) South and North Sycamore to be included in the plan. <br />
