Call to Order <br /> Chairman Jay Martin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. The following members of the Drainage <br /> and Flooding Committee were present: Committee Members Danny Earp, Chuck Engelken and John <br /> Zemanek. Staff Present: Corby Alexander, Don Pennell, Lorenzo Wingate, and Patrice Fogarty. <br /> 2. Authorizations <br /> (a) Consider approval or other action regarding minutes of the Drainage and Flooding Committee <br /> Meeting held on September 10, 2018— P. Fogarty <br /> Committee Member Engelken moved to approve the minutes of the Drainage and Flooding Committee <br /> Meeting held on September 10, 2018, as presented. Committee Member Earp seconded. MOTION <br /> PASSED 4/0. <br /> 3. Staff Reports <br /> (a) Receive report from Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County Precinct 2 regarding <br /> current and future plans relating to flooding in the City of La Porte— L. Wingate/D. Pennell <br /> City Engineer Lorenzo Wingate provided a report on the Harris County Commissioners Court meeting <br /> held on September 25, 2018. <br /> Committee Member Engelken commented that a number of residents in the Brookglenn subdivision <br /> completed forms for the potential buyout program and have not heard anything back from Harris <br /> County Flood Control District. In addition, Committee Member Engelken commented he is interesting in <br /> obtaining the list of addresses targeted for potential buyouts. <br /> Jeremy Ratcliff with Harris County Flood Control District reported AECOM Technical Services, Inc., is <br /> the company for a flood mitigation analysis near the Brookglen Subdivision. <br /> Committee Member Engelken advised Mr. Ratcliff that Klotz and Associates conducted an analysis and <br /> reported that Harris County Flood Control District were at fault with their previous decisions with the <br /> construction of Canada Road. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> October 8,2018 <br /> Drainage and Flooding Committee Minutes <br />
