Agee, F.R. Boyle, J.J. Roark, F.R. Ruff. <br />B~inutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. <br />County Comissioner R.H. Spencer appeared before the Council in regard <br />to the site for the new County Building about to be constructed in <br />La Porte. R.R. Busch presented the plans 'of the building for the <br />inspection of the Council and other citizens of LaPorte and details <br />of the blue prints vrere explained by County Ltingineer Zapp. <br />County Bldg. Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the City Council approve 'the pro- <br />Site posed site and new County Building to be located on Lots 1 to 5,inclusive, <br />Block 200, Town of La Porte, as presented by Commissioner R.H. Spencer. <br />Carried. <br />~m rshall R.R.. Busch appeared before the Council in the interest of raising the <br />salary salary of City Marshall R.H. Baker. <br />Alderman Agee called for the report of the committee appointed to in- <br />vestigate the matter. Ald. Foark reported as chairman of the com- <br />mittee that, as preciously stated, th.e aa~unt of salary per year for <br />the-period of two years had been set up by ordinance prior to the <br />election and could not be changed. <br />Corp.~curt The City Secretary presented the Corporation Court reports for the <br />Feport months of April, May and June, 1938. <br />Motion by Roark, second by Agee, that the Corporation Court reports <br />for the months of April. M.ey and June, 1938, be accepted and ple.ced <br />on file and that a warrant for the City Marshall~s fees for these <br />three months be drav~n immediately. Carried. <br />L'ond. Motion by Agee, second by Roark, that the Mayor,-Judge and ex-officio <br />Clerk of the Corporation Court, furnish bond in the amount of X1,000.00 <br />and the City to pay the premium. Carried. <br />Garrett Motion by Ruff, second by Agee, that the following resolution be <br />En~.Cc• adopted, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Porte, Texas <br />that: <br />The City of La Porte employ the Garrett Engineering Company <br />. of Houston, Texas, to make a survey and preliminary maps of <br />the proposed extension and improvements to the City water <br />system under the written contract dated July 25,1938 and that <br />th.e Mayor and City Secretary be authorized and instructed to <br />execute such contract in duplicate originals after it has been <br />executed by the Garrett Engineering Company and that one copy <br />of such contract be placed in the City files, <br />And it is so ordered.
