Counts and C ~~ Agee. <br />Minmtes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br />The following bills were presented and ordered paid . <br />Secretary eras instructed to check the bi7.ls of the La Porte <br />Hdw. Counts reported for the street 1lghtirg commmittee that <br />they had been given assurance by officials of the Houston <br />Lighting and dower Co, that anew schedule was being worked <br />out on domestic rates and that 1.a Porte would benefit by any <br />reduction made. <br />Ald. Counts made a motion which was seconded by Ald. r3tff <br />~, that the 114ayor and City Sec+ y. be authorized to turn over -- ~~~'~ <br />to c~ayle Bros. bonds issued in settlement for completion <br />of sewer contract if and when Uayle Bros, satisfied the <br />City that all of Uayle bros. creditors had been satisfied. <br />Carried. <br />bin. A V Henegan appeared before the council complaining <br />that J ~ Shelor had erreeted a fence across Holmes st.just <br />east of xoscoe and asked the city to have the street opened <br />up. AI d, Counts reported that his investigation disclosed <br />the fact that the La Porte City Council had given permission <br />to fence the street at this point about the year 1925. <br />Ald, Counts offered a motion seconded by Aid. Agee treat the <br />secretary be instructed to investigate the records and if <br />it was found where permission had been granted to fence <br />Holmes street at this point to report at the newt meeting <br />and that the council recind the grant. <br />Carried <br />Aid. Counts off Bred a motion seconded by Ald. Agee that <br />the 1.a Porte Ind.
