• • <br />Si~ECIAL ~tiEETI NG <br />LA POttTE CITY COUNCIL <br />BriARCH 20 <br />1935 <br />~aeeting was called to order by Mayor H B Harrison. <br />The following members of the Council were present. <br />Ald. Counts, Agee, Lawrence and Roark. <br />The Mayor explained that the meeting was called for the <br />purpose of canvassing bids received for labor and mater <br />ial for the erection of a new roof over the underground <br />water reservoir and taking action on disbursing funds <br />on hand in the liquidating of some City obligations. <br />The Finance Committee presented a statement showing amount <br />on hand in certain funds and past due obligations that <br />could be paid out of said funds. Statement. may be seen <br />in `~~~ financial statement file in the office of <br />Citq Secy. <br />By motion of old. Agee and second by Ald. Counts the sug- <br />gestion of Finance Committee as outlined in statement <br />was approved. <br />A1d. County offered a motion which was seconded by Ald. <br />Roark that the Finance Committee procure from the <br />First National Bank a certificate of security for funds <br />deposited to the credit of the City as required. by the <br />Bonding Co • furnishing Bonds for The City Sec' Y and . <br />assistant. <br />Carried. <br />Bids were opened for the labor for wrecking old roof over <br />underground water reservoir and erecting new roof. <br />The following bids were received. <br />J F De Lowder X139.98. Ruff and Rader, X120.00 <br />Frank N~ Coleman, ~98.00.Edw. Cowley, ~?2.OO.L U Casteel, <br />X69.60/ A H Jansen, X65.00. H E Y~ierley, 60.00. <br />thi motion b Ald. Agee and seconded by Ald. Roark, the <br />low bid of60.00 was awarded to H E Wherley. <br />Bids were opened for the furnishing of material to be <br />used in the new roof over underground water reservoir. <br />The followin bids were received. <br />La Porte Lbr. Co. (Longleaf Pina X163.86 <br />Shortleaf .Pine 159.56 <br />Huwei ter Lbr. Co. 153.17 <br />fhs motion by Ald. Counts and second by Ald. Agee the <br />~aontract was let to the Huweiler Lbr. Co. on their <br />low bid of X153.17. <br />Pfeiffer Elec. Co. presented a bid of ~p20.00 for the <br />removing of electric wiring on old roof over underground <br />water reservoir and replacing same on new roof. <br />Co r was warded to Pfeiffer 81ec. Co. <br />Cit ec~ Y Mayor. <br />
