• <br />MINUTES <br />LA P~tTE CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 26, 1943, 8:00 P.?~. <br />s. <br />Meeting was oalled to order by Mayor Ruff with the following <br />Aldermen and City Offioials present: Ald. M. D• Burgin,, J. N. <br />Johnson, J. H. Kerber, J. J. Roark, T. F. Smith, City aAtty• <br />Kiibler, City Secretary Christensen. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Slaughter The Matter of the H• R. Nickel Slaughter house was discussed and <br />goose x Motion was made by Johnson, seoond by Smith, that the City re~eot <br />and prohibit the operation of H. R. Nickel's Slaughter house and <br />draw up ordinance to Dover same. The Mayor asked for a voice <br />vote which resultod as follows: Johnson, Yes, Kerber, No, Roark, <br />No, Sriith, Yss, Bergin, Ho• The Mayor declared the motion valid. <br />i'©t itian Rev• J. B. Powers presented a petition with 82 names ob~eoting <br /> to the operation of a Public Slaughter House and requesting the <br /> City Counoil to re~eot the permit of this Slaughter House inside <br /> the City Limits. Rev. Powers also asked that the Counoil reconsider <br /> their motion to re3eot the operation of this Slaughter House. <br />Lolls Motion by Roark, second by Kerber, that bill A. E. Fawcett, Jr. <br /> in the amount of X208.00, and bill from Southern Engine and Pump <br /> Co., in the amouirt of ~19o.h2, be paid out of the Special YPater Impts. <br /> Fund. <br /> C <br />rried. <br /> a <br />Cora. Co,lrt The Mayor presented the Corporation Court Report from June 11th to <br />:?epart June 30th, 19l~3• <br /> Motion by Roark, seoond by Kerber, that the Corporation Court re- <br /> port as presented by the Mayor be accepted and Mayor's Fees paid. <br /> Carried. <br />Fid The Mayor presented a bid from Pfeiffer El®otrio Co. for installing <br /> electrical wiring in connection with the new sewage puap at Lift <br /> Station No. 2, in the amount of X152.50, which does not include <br /> furnihhing or installing a new float swithh, and if magnetic atatter <br /> is furnished by others, ~Ia0,A0 ma~,r be deducted from above estimate. <br /> Motion by Kerber, Second by Burgin, that bid from Pfeiffer Electric <br /> Co. be placed on file. <br /> Carried. <br />Cleaning ~ Motion by Kerber, seoond by Johnson, that the cleaning of B Street <br />u'~reet ditch from 7th Ave. to Deer Creek be awarded to Geo. Cockburn. <br /> Carrillel• <br />Chief of Po- Motion by Kerber, seoond by Johnson, that The City pay for a <br />lice Tele- tel®phone to be inatat3ed for Chdef of Police Howard W.
