Tit. <br />• <br />Meetixg was called to order by P~Iayor Ruff with the <br />following Aldermen and City Officials present: Ald. <br />J, N, Johnson, J. J. Roark, T. h. Smith, J. L. Dunham, <br />City Atty. Kiibler, City Secretary Sh.prp. <br />Minutes of the last regular meetin~• of August 12th and <br />special meetings of August 16th and Au~st 22~ad were <br />read and approved. <br />Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that the b-ill of <br />1~un1C3.pA1 Supply Co. in the amount of X153.85 be a1loVred <br />axid ordered paid. <br />Carried. <br />NIr. Geo. Counts presented a petition from the La Forte <br />Volunteer Fire impartment req_uesi;ing that Chas. J. ~yilson <br />be re-instated as Fire Chief at the monthl}r income of <br />X185.00 plus house a.r_d utilities. <br />Motion by Smith, second by Roark, that this petitior. be <br />accepted and placed on file. <br />Mr. Con~-ts also presented a. petition f rom a number of <br />citizens and tax payers of La Torte and the surrounding <br />~' area requesting that the Mayor ar:d City Council re-instate <br />Chas. J. Vlilson as Fire Chief with an increase in salary. <br />Motion by Smith, second by Roark, that this petition be <br />accepted and placed on file. <br />Carried. <br />Alderman Dunham made a motion to reemploy C. J. l~dilsox as <br />Fire Chief at the rate stated. in the netitiox from the <br />La Forte Voluxteer Fire Department and that the salary rye <br />retroactive to the time that he asked for a raise. <br />Alderman Johnson., stated that he was in favor of a. raise <br />beginning September 1st but xot ;50.00 per month. The <br />motion died for want of a secoxd. <br />Alderman Duxham then made a. motion to reemploy G. iJ. Y`~ilso~a <br />at the rate sta'-ed in the petition beginnixg September 1st. <br />Alderman Johnson stated that he was in favor of reemployin~; <br />N•r. V'Tilson at a reasoxable raise of 130.00 per month. and as <br />finances permit he be raised to ~50.ee. Ald:~rman fhznham's <br />motion died for want of ~; sccoxd. <br />-~'lderman Johnsox.made a motion to reemploy C. J. 'dtirilson at <br />a raise of~p30.00 per month. This motion died for vrant of <br />~~.~~ a second. <br />39a <br />Alderman Dunham then asked Viz'. ~'~ilson if he would acceT~t a <br />~'~0~, 0 er month raise and as finances permit he be raised <br />~~ •~0 to which 2~dr. ti'~ilson agreed. <br />
