15. <br />MINUTES - Special Meeting <br />LA PORTE CITY COA~I1t~1ISSIbN <br />A~i ay 14, 1947, 10 : 30 A.N.` . <br />Special meeting of~ the City Commission was called to order by <br />Mayor Pfeiffer with the following members and officials present: <br />Commissioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr., Jas. £. Stewart, City Clerk <br />J. E. Muldoon and City Atty. Jno. S. Kiibler. <br />Upon motion by Crate, second by Stewart to give Mayor Pfeiffer the <br />authority to complete contract with h9r. Cook, representative for <br />t~.e Sundstrand Accounting Machine pending definite date of delivery <br />of said machine. Carried. <br />Motion by Stewart, second by Crate to authorize J. E. D".uldoon, pity <br />Clerk to eliminate the various funds at the Bank Depository, and to <br />transfer same to the Interest and Sinking F'u.nd, General Fund and <br />Tax Fund; the time of suc~i transfer to be made as recommended by <br />T. B. Trotter, City Auditor. Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Stewart that J. N. King be authorized to <br />dig a ditch at the disposal site, parallel to present ditch, four <br />hundred feet, (4001) long, sixteen feet (16~) at top, twelve feet <br />(12') at bottom, six feet (6~) deep. He is also to back fill and tamp <br />present ditch. He is to be paid 200.00, and have the dirt excavated <br />from said ditch upon approval and acceptance by the Commission. <br />Carried. <br />Notion by Crate, second by Stewart that bill from L. E. Erwin in the <br />amount of X18.00 be paid. Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Stewart that Isaac Kibodeaux be issued <br />a permit to use a loud speaker on School ground during current soft <br />ball season. Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Stetiart to have Humble Oil and Ref~-ning <br />Company install two (2) pumps, one for gasoline and one for diesel <br />fuel oil, also to install a lube tank. Pumps and tank are to be <br />installed on City property near City Garage, so the City can purchase <br />wholesale. Carried. <br />t,7otion by Stewart, second by Crate that the City consummate trade <br />with the L.a Porte Independent School District to transfer traffic <br />light owned by City to the School District for school bus. <br />Carried. <br />PIotion by Crate, second by Stewart that the City hire out to indi- <br />fiduals for use inside of City limits when available, the City <br />~rader an,~ the City mower with operator. Rate for use shall be <br />x;:5.00 per hour for the grader and X3.00 per hour for the mower. <br />Carried. <br />m otion 'by Crate, second by Stewart that the City reimburse the <br />Baptist Church for laying 15" the across alley between Broadway <br />and First on C Street when same is completed. Carried. <br />
