M. <br />153 <br />Special meeting of the City Cor~~n.ission was palled to order by Mayor Pfeiffer, with <br />the following members and City officials present:. Commissioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr. <br />and Jas. E. Stewart, City Attorney Jno. S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon. <br />Motion by Stewart, seoond by Crato, to authorize the City Clerk to issue a check to <br />the First National Bank of La Porte in the amount of X1000.00, from the Revenue <br />Bond Fund to cover Draft payable to Carl H. Bissell, for Block 1126, La Porte. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Stewart, seoond by Crate, to transfer moneys paid out of the general fund, <br />for the oonstruetion of tank and aecossories at No. 3 'Nell, back to the general fund <br />frwn the Revenue Bond Fund. Rex Kennerly, representatives of the La Porte Recreation Asso- <br />ciation, appeared before the Co~nanissiom, and requested the City to lend their grader <br />for the eonstruetian. of a soft ball field, and also to deplore the afternoon of N~.y <br />2Oth, 19I~, as a holiday for the celebration of La Porte Day. <br />The Ca~nrnission agreed to cooperate 100 vrith the La Porte Recreation Associaticas in <br />helping build a soft ball field, and declared the afternoon of May 20th, 1948, a <br />holiday for the celebration of La Porte Day. <br />Mr. Al Wadsworth and Mr. W. W. Uric PJii.llan appeared before the Comt~i.ssion and asked for <br />a ten year extension to their lease on the Airpa~rt site. They asserted that w3.~bh such <br />an extension they could then finance the building of larger hangars which ultimately <br />would bring more business to La Porte. <br />Motion by Stewart, seeamd by Crate, to extend the Hou-Port Aviation, Inc., lease ten <br />years. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />
