I ~' <br /> <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION -MARCH 2ND, 1955 <br />ll:oo A, M, <br />Special meeting of the City Commission was called to carder by Mayor M. D. <br />Burgin, with the following members and city officials present: Commissioners <br />L.R. Rigby and H. P. Pfeiffer A. S. Koehler, Architect, and J.E. Muldoon, <br />City Clerk. <br />This meeting was called for the purpose of trying to work out a municipal <br />wage rate on sewer extension Job No. 4713, and for awarding contract far' <br />said job. <br />M~. Marsiak ,representing the Houston Building & Trades CoLtncil, and Mr. <br />~B. L. Eldridge, with the Eldridge Construction Company, Tnc., appeared be- <br />fore the Commission, atxi discussed the wages to be paid on Job No. 4713. <br />An amicable die cue Sion was held, and Mr. Marsiak stated that the Houston <br />Building and Trades Council would abide by t he present wages, but if any <br />changes were made in the Council agreements, they would expect Mr. Eldridge <br />to abide by the changes, as of the date of the o!~ange. The difference in <br />wages, if any change were made, would revert to the City. <br />• The discussion ended with everybody in agreement. <br />~-A discussion was held with Mr. Eldridge on his total Base Bid "A", of <br />X53,709.71. <br />1~fter much discussion, upon motion by Pfeiffer, seconxi by Rigby, the bid <br />__ was awarded to B. L. Eldridge Construction Co., Inc., in the mount of <br />X53,709.71, upon the approval of Jno. S, Kiibler~ Special Attarrey. <br />Carried. <br />The Mayor requested this Resolution be a part of the Minutes. <br />.. The Commission authorized the following Resolution be entered as a part of <br />the Minutes. <br />283 <br />Carried. <br />A RESOLUTION <br />As"tARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CGNSTRUCTION OF <br />SANTrARY SENgt EXTENSIONS <br />`~` AND AIITHORIaPTG THE MAYOR AMID CITY SECRETARY <br />• TO EXECUTE THE ODNTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR SAID <br />ti'VORK AND (fiT BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />~"IFIDREAS, bids were duly received by t he City Council and publicly opened <br />at 4:30 P. M,, February 18, 1955, for 'the construction of sanitary Sewer <br />Extensions <br />
