D. <br />Burgin, with the follosi.ng members and city officials presemt: Comm3.ssior:ers <br />L.R. R3.gby and H. P. Pfeiffer, Supt. of Public .Works W. A. Arthur, Special Coun- <br />sel Jno.S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J.E. Muldoon. <br />motes of the last meeting were read at~d approved. <br />The La Porte Independent Sch©ol District informed-the City Ccmmiission that Mr. <br />K. A. Morton is no longer employed by them a,s the school deputy, and that Mr. <br />Harry Gill has been employed,to replace Mr. Morton. <br />Notice by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby, that Mr. K.A. Mort~'a badge be returned, <br />and that his deputation and bond be cancelled, and that badge, deputation and <br />bond be replaced in the Hama of Harry Gill. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Pfeiffer, second b9' Rigby, to write a letter to ~'. John Wright, 204 <br />S. 3rd Street, and request him to remove his fence from the follord.ng streets: <br />Texas, frcug "J" to "M", and cross-streets 'r K", "1" and "M". <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, giving Harris County, Precinct 1, per- <br />mission to uae the City of La Porters garbage disposal, to duarrp garbage from <br />Clear Lalae Park, free of charge, in return far other considerations. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Pfeiffer, secoal by Rigby, instructing Public Works Superintendent <br />W.A. Arthvor to construct a labor aback at Polk Av+earce and North Braa~iway, for <br />laborers and prospective workers, shack to have two sides, and benches. <br />Carried. <br />The ComYm3.ssion agreed to discuss the purcha se of grass cutters for streets <br />and vacant lots in the city, and to have other data available at the next <br />meeting. <br />The Cceamission requested Mr. Jesse Beall to appear before them to discuss <br />sewage line he was constructing in~Blooks 80-and 89, La P®rte. Mr. Beall <br />stated he would guarantee his se~rage 3ob~ and that it would work to tie <br />last building site in Bl®ck -89, La Porte, aixi if it did not, he ~auld re- <br />pair it himself. <br />291 <br />
