Brawn, Jr., and P~uth Huddleston, r~ssista.nt City Clerk. <br />Also present was h2r. b'~.A. lsthur, Supt. of Public ?,'rorks~ and Jno. Kiibler,Spec.Counsel <br />Y,2~_nutes of the last meet7.ng -^rcre read anal approved. <br />I~~7r. Bob Stevens appeared before the Co~aission and talked over the possibility <br />of> the Commission takinb out tivorkments competis~tion insura:ice on the city <br />employees. The need of this kind of a policy was discussed, and I~7r. Stevens <br />,vas uwked to bring several t~y-pes of policies in t~~.is line to the next meeting, <br />for the Comrni.ssion to study. <br />T,?r. Ernest L. UroT^m, Jr.~ appeared before t'ne Comru.ssion and presented a <br />very interesting and educational resume of the City's bond indebtedness as <br />it stands at this time. PRx. Urrn^m read the report in full and e~lained <br />each paragraph a.s he vrent along. The Ccmmissior. agreed t'nat this Zrras very <br />enlightening to them, and assured hi+m they wo~:t~ d all ive careful study to <br />this repar~t before assuminu~ any more bond indebtedness. <br />The matter of 1~.2r. A. J. A,yo tapping on the e_xa.sting sewer line at his home <br />on Bayshore Drive withou'~ having paid his pro-rata part of the lateral lines, <br />was brought up. 1,7r. Ayo had purchased t'r.~.s house from A,~rs. Sue n.2athis, who <br />had not paid her pro-rata part at the time of the sale cf the house to Y.'>~^. <br />Ayo. P7r. Ayo felt that this was not his obligation. After discussion, it <br />was unanimously agreed that this was a matter between It7r. Ayo and Mrs. 1;4athis, <br />and that his purchase of the house ~^rith this obligation unpaid, would not <br />release him from sane. Mr. Ayo will have to pay his pro-rata part of this <br />line, in the amount of :~~.9.53. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer reported that the State Hight^ray Department is taking steps <br />at this time to install some kind of traffic control systeri at t'ae inter- <br />sections of Broadway and '~J~~, 1~th and 2nd Streets, and Froadway and ~~C«. <br />He also stated that the State ti^rill_ maintain these lights. <br />A bill from Dr. Yoder _f or professional sere*ices for Olly s;j.rcia, w'nich <br />had not come ire at the time the other bill for him was allowed, was brought <br />up. It~otion by Lawler, second by Osborn, t'nat this bill be paid. <br />Carried. <br />Upon. motion by LaYvler, second by Brrnvn, the following men were appointed to <br />the Equalizaticn Board for the year 7.958: r.C. 1.1c Colltun, Jr., Charles ~. <br />Dlorris and ti'~fendell ~°J'illces. _ _ <br />Carried. <br />
