• <br />• MINUTES - SPECIAL CALLED MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION - LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />JUNE 30, 1980 <br />1, Meeting called to order by Mayor Por-tem Kibodeaux at <br />6:30 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor Pro-tem <br />I.J.Kibodeaux, Commissioner Tomerlin, Commissioner Cline, <br />Commissioner Simons, Commissioner Malone. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION ABSENT: Mayor Meza. <br />OTHER CITY OFFTCIALS PRESENT: James R. Hudgens, City <br />Administrator; Betty Waters, City Clerk; Knox Askinsr <br />City Attorney; David Paulissen and Ben Talburt, Code <br />Enforcement; Dave Corbin, Bush,Hutchinsen Engineers; <br />Stan Sherwood, Parks and Recreation. <br />• 2. Recommendation was made by Dave Corbin to accept the bids <br />as submitted by Gulf Coast Limestone of Seabrook and Uvalde <br />Rock Asphalt Company of San Antonio, Texas. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SIMONS TO ACCEPT THE BIDS <br />SUBMITTED BY GULF COAST LIMESTONE AND UVALDE ROCK ASPHALT <br />AND HAVING RECEIVED NO BIDS ON THE REMAINING MATERIAL WE <br />DO AUTHORIZE THE CITY ADMTNTSTRATTON T0'NEGOTTATE PRICES <br />ON THE REMAINING MATERIALS NEEDED FOR STREET WORK. Motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Cline. Motion carried 3~ayes <br />and 0--nays. <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Cline and Simons. <br />NAYS: None <br />3. Code Enforcement made the recommendation that the mowing <br />contract for the City of La Porte be awarded to W.L. Brown. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER CLINE TO AWARD THE MOWING <br />CONTRACT TO W.L. BROWN. Motion was seconded by ,Commission ear <br />Tomerlin. Motion carried 3-ayes and 0-nays. <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Cline and Simons. <br />NAYS: None <br />• 4. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS; <br />Mr. Hudgens reported the trip to New York was in his opinion <br />successful. The presentation to Standard & Poors acquired <br />
