1, <br />L� <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA POPTE CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />January 9, 1967 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, Russell Shepherd, and Charles <br />D. Boyle. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Askins, City Engineer <br />H. Carlos Smith, Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, and City Clerk <br />Marilyn Kelley. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />1. Minutes of the regular meeting of December 19, 1966 were approved <br />as written. <br />2. Bids were received for the purchase of an auxiliary power unit. <br />(See Exhibit No. 1). Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded <br />by Commissioner Stabs, that the bids be tabled for tabulation. <br />Motion carried. <br />3. The Commission received bids for the street paving project. <br />(See Exhibit No. 2). Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded <br />by Commissioner Boyle, that the t.>ids be tabled for tabulation. <br />Motion carried. <br />4. Mr. Norman Staashen state: that he has a large water bill, and <br />does not feel that the adjustment , as authorized by policy is <br />fair. After considerable discussion, it was agreed that Mr. <br />Staashen will be allowed the normal adjustment plus discounts. <br />5. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by <br />Commissioner Compton, that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized <br />to execute and deliver a release of paving lien to the Community <br />Church, when the required amount of money has been placed in <br />escrow with the title company. <br />
