• <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, <br />January 12, <br />7:00 P. M,. <br /> <br />MEETING <br />LA PORTS, TE:rAS <br />1967 <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, Charles Bvyle, and Russell <br />Shepherd. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Askins, City Engineer <br />H. Carlos Smtth and City Clerk Marilyn KelCey. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />1. The Commission recieved a request from Mtss Willie McGee, that <br />she and her brother be allowed to place a trailer house on the rear <br />of Patsy Kings property, Lots 17 to 19, Block 16, Town of La Porte. <br />Commissioner Compton stated that she had discussed the possibility <br />with each of the neighbors, and each approves of the trailer being <br />placed there. <br />Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commtssioner <br />Stabs, that due to a hardship case, a temporary permit be issued <br />to place a house trailer of 322 South Third, and that the permit <br />be limited to the persons making the request, Miss WiiZie McGee <br />and her brother. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />2. The City Engineer reported that the estimated cost of moving <br />the garage building from the Community Church and converting <br />it into a Lab Building for the Sewer Department is ;~2~700.00. <br />He further stated that there would be an immediate expenditure <br />of approximately X850.00 for a slab, moving and plumbing. <br />Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Shepherd, that the City accept the building, and approve the <br />expenditure of approximately X850.00 to move the building, <br />pour the slab and plumb same. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />3. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by <br />Commissioner Boyle, that the payment of a statement from <br />Kiibler and Kiibler for X3,982.50, be ratified. Motion <br />carried.
