• • <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTS COMMlSS10N, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />January 23, 9967 <br />MEMBERS OF THE CO"dMISSlON PRESENT: Mayor N. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, Cherries D. Boyle, and Russell <br />Shepherd. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMN/SS/ON ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Askins, City Engineer <br />H. Carlos Smith, City Clerk Marilyn Kelley, and Chief of Police <br />N. F. Freeman. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />f + + <br />1. Mtnutes of the regular meeting of January 9, 9967 and the special <br />meeting of January 92, 9967, were approved as written. <br />+ + + <br />2. The City Engineer presented a tabulation of bids received <br />on the Auxiliary Power Unit. (See Exhibit No. ~, minutes <br />of January 9, 9967.) Actton wus tabled for study. <br />+ + + <br />3. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton, that the City accept $2,500.00 as a settlement of <br />the ta,x suit againsf Happy Harbor Nome, and that the City <br />Attorney be instructed to proceed with the necessary legal <br />steps. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mayor Pfeiffer recommended that the Commission prepare a <br />rough draft of recommendations they would like to be considered <br />in preparing the new Zoning Ordinance and request that the <br />PCanning and Zoning Commission conttnue work on the new <br />Ordinance. <br />Recommendations: <br />9. Industrial District. <br />2. Commercial District. <br />3. Apartments in Commercial District. <br />4. Zoning at alleys instead of streets. <br />5. Not more than three Single Faw-iZy Districts. <br />6. Make provisions for Buffer Zones between Commercial <br />and Residential. <br />7. Apartments Two car spaces for each apartment and <br />playareas be required. <br />+ + + <br />
