P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, Charles D. Boyle, and Russell <br />Shepherd. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFF/C/ALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Askins, City Clerk <br />Marilyn Kelley, Superintendenf of Streets Clifford Ellis, and <br />Superintendent or Waterworks Lyman Cunningham. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />9. Minutes of the regular meeting of January 23, 9967 were approved <br />as written. <br />+ + + <br />2. The City Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />held a Public Hearing for the re-zoning of Lots 97 thru 32, <br />Block 934, Town of La Porte, from Class 'C' Residential to <br />Class 'E' Apartments. <br />Mr. Charles Whynot, representing the Space City Development <br />Company presented the request. <br />Mr. Gus Groos and Mr. Jerry Hoff representing the Chamber <br />of Commerce spoke in favor of the re-zoning. <br />Mr. Johnnie Ponder presented a petition of names of persons <br />opposed to the re-zoning. Others speaking in opposition <br />were Mrs. Eugene Mabry, Mrs. Wayne D. Parsons, Mrs. J. E. <br />Daigle, and Mr. Frank R. Boyle. <br />Action was tabled for study. <br />+ + + <br />3. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton, that Ordinance No. 756 be passed on ftrst and final <br />reading. <br />• <br />
